The reunion was held on August 31 – September 2, 2012 and on Friday several got together to decorate the building and get acquainted. Saturday morning there was a parade down main street at 10:00 am with many entries as well as many onlookers. We would like to thank all who entered the parade and came out to watch.
After the parade we went to the Hope Center to cook and visit, and as one youngster commented “Just Chillin”. We had 125 registered with Joshua Ivory of Minnesota and William Dowd of Los Angeles (who is 80 years old) traveling the futherest. The oldest member in attendance was Mae Lou Hendrix of Quitaque who is a young 96 years old.
Around 2:00 pm we began with an abundance of food. There was a cook off with John & Teresa Session winning 1st and Alvin and L B Ivory winning 2nd and Billy N & Eric coming in 3rd.
On Sunday we had our church service and business meeting. We continued our visiting together and gave out door prizes. After a big cleanup we returned to several homes in Quitaque for final visits and good byes. It was a weekend enjoyed by all.
